We are much more than a club, we are a community.
Started in 1975 our founders set out to create a place in Southland that the hard of hearing could get together and form trusting relationships, enjoy activities and communication through sign.
We also have 3 loyal life members: Graham Lines, Nicky Pollock, Lorraine Davoren that have been part of the club since day 1 and deserve a special mention.

Our History
1957
Southland Deaf Club was founded.
1997
The club changed its name to: Southland Deaf Community to better reflect our purpose and values.
2011
The Club Room was setup at 66 Glengarry Cresent.
2022
65th Anniversary which saw people from all around the country attend.
